USB troubles.
« on: November 22, 2013, 04:46:22 AM »
Hi,
Has anyone had the error:

Unknown Device (Device not enumerated)

I have come across this on a windows 8.1 64bit, ESXi 5.5, USB 3.0 pass through to a powered USB 3.0 hub with several devices plugged in.  Plugging devices directly into the two available usb ports does not give any errors.

On another PC I have been able to plug in the hub and all of the same devices and they work without issue.

I havent come across this error outside of ESXi.  Has anyone had similar experiences?  How did you sort it out?

Thanks,

Phil

I did not get an error but I did not some strange issues with ESXi 5.5 HW V8 and USB 3.0 passthrough to Win7 64.  I have passed the two USB 3.0 onboard ports through on an ASRock 970 Extreme 3.  All seems to work fine.   I can plug in a keyboard to either port no issue.  I can plug in a wireless keyboard/mouse combo... no issue.  But when I try to plug an optical mouse into the any port directly Windows 7 Ultimate seems to install the driver but the mouse won't work.  Really strange.  I tried two different mice on different ports that have been confirmed working.  Right now I am just sticking with the wireless mouse/keyboard combo as it seems to work.
