Hardware for ESXI host
« on: September 15, 2017, 09:32:16 PM »
I would like to build an esxi server for home use Labs for work use, big storage, media server!

For beginning 64gb of ram & starting with 1 M2 SSD, can add more later but not needed at start.

I have considered 1U rack servers but the noise is just too much.
If you would have better suggestion please they are welcome
Just wondering if these HW would be compatible with esxi/NSX

Intel Core i7-7820X X-Series (LGA 2066, 3.6GHz, Unlocked)

Gigabyte X299 AORUS Gaming 7 (LGA 2066, Intel X299, ATX)

Samsung 960 EVO (500GB, M.2 2280)

WD Red Pro (10000GB, 3.5", NAS, Storagesysteme) x 4

Fractal Node 804 (Cube)

Corsair Vengeance LPX (4x, 16GB, DDR4-3200, DIMM 288)

Corsair RM750x (750W)

Thanks :)
